Steel strands and cables are made up of several wires stranded in one direction or the other. AISI 316 stainless steel or galvanized steel cables meet current standards to guarantee minimum mechanical strength. Composed of 7 wires for 1X7 strands and up to 211 wires for 8X19 + 7X7 constructions. The lifespan, the laying radii, the desired mechanical strength are to be defined together to choose the right cable reference adapted to your use.
Stainless steel strands
The stainless steel strands are composed of 7 wires or 19 wires of identical diameter. The 1*7 and 1*19 type strands have the particularity of being rigid compared to the 7*7 or 7*19 cable. The material grades are in stainless steel AISI 316 or variant AISI 316 L, 304 but also Nitinol or Tungsten.
Stainless steel cables
Codica's stainless steel cables are designed and manufactured for heavy duty use. With their flexible 7X7 or 7X19 construction, also known as 6X7+WSC or 6X19+WSC respectively, these robust cables will last for years.
Sheathed stainless steel cables
The sheathed stainless steel ropes are intended for repeated use on pulleys or coupled to a metal sheath (word sheathing highlighted or hyperlink). The sheathing on wire rope is achieved through an extrusion process. The material used is polyamide 12.
Galvanized steel cables
galvanized steel cables have the advantage of being more economical than stainless steel cables. galvanized steel cables are intended for indoor use not subject to external constraints.
Sheathed galvanized steel cables
Galvanised sheathed wire ropes are intended for repeated use on pulleys or coupled to a metal sheath(word sheathing highlighted or hyperlink). The sheathing on the rope is made by an extrusion process. The material used is polyamide 12. Galvanised sheathed wire ropes are more economical than stainless steel versions.
End caps for steel traction cable
Cable ends or cable ends are stops crimped onto the cable. Cylindrical, stepped cylindrical, spherical, threaded rod, discover our specific fabrications for your project. Codica guarantees the mechanical strength of the cable ends.
Zamak cable end pieces
Zamak 5 end fittings or cable ends are parts that are moulded onto the stainless steel or galvanised cable. Codica manufactures cables with zamak end fittings at its Barr site in Alsace. The minimum launch quantity is around 1000 pieces in series production.
